Quick & Healthy Fall Snack: Spiced Warm Apples

It's finally starting to stay cool in Los Angeles, kinda. So I've been getting more in the mood of "fall" if we can even call it that. I mean, I don't have any scarves or cute sweaters, but I'm feeling the whole fall vibe when it comes to food and drinks. I'll be in Palm Springs for Thanksgiving this week and it's going to be pretty cold, so I already have my Fireball Hot Toddy recipe on mind to stay sipping on boozy warmth for 5 days.

[That recipe is my most popular Pin with thousands of repins but it's getting revamped this week, stay tuned!]

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite warm snacks though! You won't even believe how easy this is and you'll probably go back and do it again after the first bowl. It's really just your good old warm cinnamon apples but instead of using sugar and butter, I ripped away the guilt by using healthy ingredients!  I've been eating this snack for quite awhile, as seen here on my IG, but it's tough to get warm apples down your throat in the 100 degree summers.

Healthy Spiced Apple Snack

What You Need:
1 Apple
Coconut Oil Spray
1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/8 tsp Nutmeg
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Stevia

Of course, you could measure those to your liking. Most of the time I don't even use measurements, I'm all about eyeballing it but I felt like getting fancy this time and using some kitchen utensils.

What You Do:
  • Chop up your apple and place into a microwave safe bowl.
  • Spray with coconut oil
  • Add vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon and stevia
  • Stir
  • Microwave for 1 minute (times vary depending on your watts)
  • Enjoy!

Look, that took a total of what? Like, three minutes tops? Now go light up one of your Bath & Body Works candles that we all love, cuddle up under a blanket with your pet, turn on Bravo and enjoy your noms. Well, that's what I'm doing. DeNiro and I are chilling watching Real Housewives reruns but also flipping back to the Food Network because, hi thanksgiving side dish ideas. Also, hi I'm on vacation from work all week.
