Get Cozy With These Fall Essentials

I honestly feel kinda ripped off living in southern California, we don't have a real fall. I mean really though, I just care about Halloween anyways so whatevs!  Wait, am I even eligible to make a fall post when it's been 100 degrees for the last week?  I'm feeling kinda left out seeing people break out the scarfs and boots on Instagram. I wanna join in on the fall fun too, so I'm gonna share some of my favorite things even if I don't get to utilize them. Hey, I grew up in New England, I know what real fall is, I can do this.

:: Let's just get the most important one out of the way first... candles! I've already burned through one Sweater Weather and started on a Marshmallow Fireside last night.

:: When I'm trying to get cozy in the blasting AC, I've been rocking this super cute "California Pull Over" from Sweet Blossom Boutique. I have it in Burgundy and Grey, but they sell it in black as well!

:: Whats fall without some olive green and/or camo print? Dying to grab this overside camo jacket! Also from Sweet Blossom, but they're sold out right now cuz it's that bomb. Their IG says it will be back in two weeks!  I also love this camo button up from Charlotte Russe.

:: For sure go out and get a bunch of the cutest scarves you can find. Although it's never scarf weather here, I like to pair one with a work outfit sometimes because the office is so cold.

:: A couple of hats - I'm hat obsessed and I also need to hide the grays growing in.... But really though, I want this pizza one.

:: Decorative leggings are always fun! Especially paired with an over-sized sweater and boots!

:: Of course, a faux leather jacket to go with everything!

I'd rock all of this if it wasn't 108 degrees out.

And lastly.... absolutely nothing that has anything to do with Pumpkin Spice. yuck!  I will take any and every thing apple & cinnamon flavored though! Like some suuuuper simple snacks and drinks I've shared here before.
:: Caramel Fireball Hot Toddy
:: Spiced Warm Apples

What are some of your fall favorites?
Is it legit fall yet where you're living?

Why I Stopped Being Vegan

I'm bracing myself for my first ever hate comment with this post...

And you're probably thinking, "but Kelly, didn't you just start being vegan?!" Well, yea. And as much as my heart and soul wanted to be vegan, my body wasn't having it. Every body is different and for some (maybe most) vegan changed their body in a positive way. My body was fighting against this change and I couldn't take it anymore. For months and months I've tried to find the perfect vegan way for myself and it sadly just wasn't working out for me. While I'm still staying away from red meat, pork, and dairy (aside from the occasional pizza) I've added chicken back into my diet. So therefore - no longer vegan.

I learned through all of this that my body needs some lean protein. I wasn't getting nearly enough protein from the few options I had. I couldn't get the right amount of protein without consuming way way way too many carbs. I figured all this out by tracking my macros on the MyFitnessPal app, and I was exceeding my daily carbs, even with working out! I know the whole protein debacle is a big battle between vegans and non-vegans and I will tell you that from my experience and for me, there is not enough protein. I thought for sure I'd be ok but unfortunately that was just not my experience and I changed up my foods in many different ways over the months and it never worked out for me. Once all those carbs started packing on the weight I knew something had to change.  For my body, this is the fastest way for me to gain a lot of weight very quickly. So I made the tough choice to no longer be vegan so I can get the protein I need and drop these 9 pounds I gained.

I feel awful about it because I was doing this for the animals and now I just feel guilty and like an asshole. I will still be making conscious vegan choices often, but eating up tons of mock meat is not a choice I want to make anymore. I still very much support the vegan lifestyle, I'm just not living it right now. And I of course felt obligated to come on here and share this since I've been so open about transitioning to vegan to begin with.

I've had a lot of big life changes this year and I'm incredibly overwhelmed by them still and I realized that I was very over stressed about making vegan work for me. I tried, but I just couldn't handle another big change. Not right now.

Ok but now having said all that... here's a quick 1 minute video I made of "What I Ate Today" a couple weeks back - all vegan!  oh the irony...

here is the 1st video in a new "One Minute" series! whether it will be what I ate, what I did, or anything at all -
I want to make fun short one minute-ish videos! Let me know if this is something that you like :)

I hope I'm not disappointing anyone. I'm just trying to do what I feel is best for me day by day.

Fuck It, I'm Done.

I started the week off planning to film what I eat all week, and make a post two days ago about getting on board the Freelee 30 day recipe situation.... but, I can't. I'm just so over food right now, it's stressing me out! Let me explain. This is about to get deep. And probably all over the place because I'm just gonna run with it and let it out.

Food and I have a love/hate, up and down relationship. It's often controlled my life for my most of my life. I've been overweight, underweight, obsessive, diet pill junkie, laxative junkie, starved myself, overate, you name it - if it has anything to do with an unhealthy relationship with food, I've been there. And I'm exhausted. This plan and that plan, this new fad and that new fad. I CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE.

I go through these phases where: I spend all of my money on food. I go to the grocery store My fridge, freezer and pantry are always stocked and stuffed. And it's not just at home, my work desk drawer is always loaded with snacks, and I take up space in our small fridge. I spend most of my free time watching food videos on YouTube or scrolling through food Instagrams, or digging through Pinterest for food food food!

While I've always been off and on like this - this has really started to take over me the last few months. And if we're gonna get into psychology, I can pretty much guarantee why. This year has been... there's not even a word for it. A nightmare? My life was so unexpectedly flipped upside down, and I've continued to feel tortured basically til this very day. I tried so hard to keep it together and build a new life on my own, but I'm starting to think that was really just being thrown into survival mode. Now I feel like the walls are cracking and I'm losing control of who I am. And I guess putting all my energy into anything related to food is my way of holding it all together. Why food? I don't know, probably because I was a fat kid and have always turned to food in distress.

I'm done following plans and programs, I'm done falling for any "hot new diet trend". I don't want to keep forcing my body to eat what a program is telling it to eat. I want to listen to my body intuitively and feed it what it wants when it wants - while vegan. So I'm sorry to those of you that were looking forward to me recapping the 30 days of Freelee's plan (as I showed on Snapchat - mskellylouise), I'm still going to be sharing bits and parts of my vegan journey in blog posts and in videos, just not under any plan.

I dunno guys, I'm just sad lately. I'm really broken still. I'm so heartbroken and I still cry a lot and I'm still confused and I'm just really stressed and kinda lost I guess. A lot of shit went down recently and I feel like all the progress I made this year went backwards and I'm just really down lately. I'm trying to stay on top of the promises I made for myself with this blog but some days all I wanna do is just sleep and cry.

Top 5 Gym Essentials

I've finally been consistent at the gym again. Besides just wanting to be healthy and fit and have a stress relief session a few days a week - going to the gym is much more enjoyable when you have some of the tools to make it easier. Of course, your phone and headphones are number one, I don't even need to put those on the list.

1. Good sneakers! Whether you're lifting or doing cardio, you want to make sure your foundation is supportive and comfortable. Nothing exciting about shin splints and heel spurs. My favorite brand is Asics.

2. Lifting gloves - this is good for free weights, ropes, kettlebells, anything you need to grip, you want to keep your palm protected and some weights have a textured handle that I personally find kinda painful to grip. I have these white Nike ones.

3. Comfy clothes that make you feel good! - loose fitting tanks and cropped pants are my fave.

follow me on snapchat :: mskellylouise

4. Expandable waist pack belt - to hold your phone, keys, cards, etc. I personally have never been a fan of those phone holder things that wrap on your arm, my arms have always been too small to hold it comfortably. I love this belt because it keeps my phone out of the way when I'm lifting so I can still enjoy my music without getting annoyed.

5. Apps! There are so many I feel like they should have a post of their own.
    ::Sweat With Kayla
    ::My Fitness Pal
    ::7 Minutes Workout
    ::Tone It Up
Honestly, the list is endless. Find one that works best for you, there's millions!

These are the few things that have made all the difference in my gym experience!

My Baby Had A Birthday

On Saturday, August 13th DeNiro turned 4! I honestly can't believe that it's been four years already. It legit feels like I just picked him up at the shelter. He was just a tiny 3 month old baby when I took him home. I'm so thankful for this dude, at the end of every bad day (and there have been plenty!) he is always there to cuddle with me and make me feel loved. It's been a rough four years and more specifically past six months and he was right there by my side through every single tear that fell on my pillow. I wish he could understand how much he means to me.

Enjoy with me, a "Monday Dump" of his adorable little face!

If you follow me on Snapchat (mskellylouise), you saw he got his annual sashimi birthday dinner!

Do you celebrate your pets birthday?

Why I'm Obsessed With Grocery Hauls

a haul from my IG a long time ago

When I tell people I'm a picky eater, they never actually realize how deep that goes. I've spent most my whole life being so difficultly picky that it even annoys me. I've never been the most fun person to go out to eat with because I'll say "no" to almost every single place you suggest. Sushi? nope. Thai? nope. Indian? nope. Seafood? nope. ... Pizza? depends where it's from. And I live in Los Angeles, so almost everywhere you can go to eat is some sort of trendy AF joint with some weird ass food that you couldn't pay me to eat. This is probably why I have no friends.

Since rebuilding my life, I decided to start trying new things in all areas of my life, and since I've been transitioning to Veganism, food had to be at the top of that list!  Bring in.... grocery haul videos! I.AM.OB.SESSED.  I will watch every single one that I come across on YouTube, and I'll watch all the "what I eat in a day" videos too! And the ones that are "store specific" like Trader Joes and Costco are awesome too because that just makes it even easier to get the exact item! Seeing what people are buying has really changed the game for me, I've fallen in love with some foods that I've spent my whole life gagging at the thought of. For example; Hummus. Up until a few months ago, my reaction was "barf barf barf" and now I go through a container or two a week! Currently I only like the Cedar's Roasted Red Pepper, I'm not into the other flavors yet.

Here's a few that I've watched recently. I'm not sharing these particular ones for any special reason, I honestly watch so many I don't have any "favorites" to share. These were chosen just at random :)

The second one is much longer as she goes into detail about why she bought things and what she likes to make, etc. That's another thing I love, everyone has their own style of how they show their haul. Does this make me sound really old? I kinda feel like an old lady right now being all amped up and excited about groceries.

Moral of the story is, I love these videos because they've opened me up to trying foods I never would have before and often it's foods that most people consider basic staples in their kitchen. I've lived a very sheltered food life and thanks to something as simple as seeing what's in your grocery cart is helping me so much! Also, now I really wanna start uploading my own grocery hauls to my channel!

Are you a picky eater?
Do you like seeing what other people are buying?

My Favorite Lip Products

I have a small mouth and a tiny uneven set of lips, on top of a chubby cheeked face, so I've never really been a fan of drawing attention to my lips. Which is why you will almost never see me in much more than some sort of lip conditioner. But that doesn't mean I don't have a few die hard go-to lip products!

HA! When I laid them all out for photos, I legit laughed out loud. Look at my basic ass, they're all the same color! And last week I was bitching about eye shadow palettes being all the same colors. But this is because my small little mouth can't carry a bold lip :(
Anyways, let's go!

It Cosmetics Lip Vitality :: the original one in Je Ne Sais Quoi (now they have tons of actual colors)
This has been my favorite thing ever for like two years now. I've talked about it so much on here so I won't repeat myself and bore anyone but DAMN I LOVE IT. (not pictured cuz I just ran out of it this past weekend. *sobs*)

Maybelline Baby Lips :: same story as above, mention it all the time, only love the plain one in Quenched. I can't live without it, I have one in my purse and one in my bathroom at all times. Side note- I hate all the other Baby Lips.

Best Damn Beauty Lip Mask :: oops, another I've mentioned before. See, these really are my favorites. I put this on every night and since I started using it last year, I never have chapped lips anymore, ever!

NYX Butter Gloss Creme Brulee & Tiramisu :: the only two that I buy over and over and always have in my purse. I love the little touch of natural color and they're not sticky glosses. Ya'll already know about these popular little gems....

Colourpop Ultra Matte in Solow :: my first ever Colourpop matte lip and still my #1 homie. It's like my natural lip color with a tiny touch of pink. It's almost all gone and that's ok because this was from the first batch they ever had and I'm probably due for a new one anyways.

MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Nice N Spicy :: when MAC's Whirl pencil was all the rage, I reached for this one... by accident. And ended up loving it!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in Naked :: I use this one way more than the MAC one, this is the lip liner I reach for constantly. Often times I'll line and fill my lips in with it and then top it with one of the NYX Butter Glosses.

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in 10 Nude Flush :: these got a lot of hate when they came out because everyone expected them to be a liquid lipstick but they don't dry. They stay feeling like a creamy soft matte, I think it feels nice.

What are some of your favorite lip products?
Do you have go-to color?

No Jumping

Hearty Veggie Lentil Soup - Vegan

I've been making this soup over and over again for the last few months. That might sound weird since we're dead in the middle of summer. But it's quick, easy and cheap! And I'm all about those things so it's no wonder this has been my go-to!

One of the best things about this is how much food you end up with! I have lunch for the entire week and then some. I always portion it out into my lunch containers so it's an easy grab & go every morning.

If you're a long time reader, you know from previous recipes that I'm not the biggest fan of measuring. I like to live on the edge and wing it when it comes to throwing in seasonings. I stand by "season to your liking"!

Olive oil
chopped fresh garlic
chopped onion (I use green spring)
chopped carrots
chopped potatoes
chopped zucchini
1 can kidney beans (rinsed)
1 can corn (rinsed)
a few cans of crushed tomatoes
a carton of veggie broth
1/2 cup red lentils
1/2 cup green lentils
seasonings of your choice, I chose:
garlic powder

start your pot with heating a few tablespoons of oil
throw in the garlic and onions to start the flavors going
add a cup of water to avoid burning
dump in all the chopped veggies: carrots, potatoes, zucchinis
let those cook together for a few mins
dump in all the canned goods: beans, corn, tomotoes
start to boil
pour in the veggie broth
add lentils and seasonings
bring to boil
then let simmer for about 45 minutes to an hour

I like to top my bowl off with some fresh parsley as seen in my IG post from one of the million times I've made this soup.  And I'm enjoying this for my lunch right now as I hit publish on this post! Check it out over on my Snapchat @ mskellylouise

Why I Stopped Buying Makeup

Do I need it?
But it looks just like the other palette I have.
Well, everyone else is getting it.
It's so hyped up, it must be amazing!

~fifty dollars later~

I LOVE IT! IT'S LIFE! IT'S THE BEST! I'm gonna use it everyday!!

...And then it sits in a drawer for the rest of eternity. Untouched.

That basically sums up my experiences with makeup. And I'm just over it. Nothing is different anymore. Every new palette that comes out just looks like the last hyped up one (Kylie and Shaaanxo for example). I almost fell for the Too Faced Peach palette, and then I almost fell for the ABH Modern Renaissance palette.  But seriously, how many of the same colors do I need?

palettes shown:

I could go on a winded rant about how much of a waste all this "collecting makeup" is. But then I'd be a hypocrite because I totally fell into for a while. And then a gazillion dollars and a pile of expired makeup later.... here we are, I barely ever even wear makeup anymore. Le sigh. Can I get a refund on my stupid impulse buying?

Instead of ranting here's a quick little list of why I cut the cord on purchasing anything other than basic needs. This problem for me applies mostly to eye shadow palettes, although this can totally apply to "how many peachy pink blushes do I need?", "how many matte foundations do I need?", "how many different concealers and black eyeliners do I need?"......

  1.  I currently don't wear a lot of makeup (summer time and all) but when I do, I'm not putting together any grand eye looks.
  2.  So. Many. Of. The. Same. Colors. - or very similar ones.
  3.  The price of having a collection is ridiculous. Just the few palettes in the photo above is probably about $300. And I haven't hit pan on any of them and they're most likely already expired.
  4.  I realized most gurus on YouTube were lying about products and I'm done being a sucker.
  5.  I'd rather buy food.

Maybe these companies just have us all hyped up over packaging, I've fallen for it so many times! That seems to be all the rage these days. Or maybe I'm just becoming a minimalist since downsizing my whole life. Or maybe I'm just finally getting smart about my spending?  Whatever it is, I'm so over wasting my money on makeup I don't need. I don't need every single "hot new item", the makeup buying trend is out of control right now.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MAKEUP. If it made sense to have it all, I'd love to have it all! If it cost nothing, I'd snatch it all up. If I win the lottery, I'll delete this post and go buy everything in Sephora! I mean, I was excited as ever when I got a Maybelline foundation powder in the mail yesterday from Influenster!  So maybe all this angst I have is actually just towards eye shadow palettes...

How is your makeup collection? Have you also thought about downsizing?
Do you fall for packaging and hype too?
How many eye shadow palettes do you own?

I'm Just Happy To Be Here

I told myself that Monday's would be a photo drop day. But every week I end up writing on and on and on... Shhh. Without saying much, here's some of my favorite shots I've taken so far this summer. .

PS- in case you noticed that I didn't show up last week for Thursday's post.... I didn't totally fail on that. I was writing a post, but I just couldn't get it together, nothing was hitting. And I didn't want to put up a crap post just to have something up. I think Thursdays are a more difficult day because I chose for it to be the "personal" day, maybe I need to revise that to "if there is anything to share".  Meh, I'm still showing up every week and I'm proud of myself for that. I posted more times in July than I did in the whole year.

What do you do when you get stuck on a post? Do you post it anyways? Or let it go?
How was your weekend?

Instagram was trying to play us the other day by crashing but I'm still gonna show her some love cuz we all know she's the queen bee of social media. And the queen bee of life is basically food so we're bringing them together in matrimony today and showcasing some of my favorite food IG accounts! What the hell am I saying? I'm 97% asleep and I'm just gonna go with it... play along.

photo from IG @bonnyrebecca

First up is @vegamegame
This account is so different from any other food account out there. Instead of showing the actual food, she has drawings of the ingredients! It's such a fun and unique way to share recipes!

My Basic Summer Makeup

More often than not when you get excited for someone's "basic" makeup, it's a list of at least 36 products. I'm not here to play games today, this is legit basic bitch makeup. My "summer look" has consisted of only four things. Not only is this better for my skin, it saves a million hours of time in the morning. For real, it might take me under two minutes to do this. Which is amazing because I have to be at work at 6:30am and I prefer hitting snooze twelve times rather than getting up to slather slime all over my face.

Bonus: this is all drugstore products!

1.) After washing and moisturizing, I use the Garnier Skin Renew Anti Dark Circle Roller under my eyes. And maybe a lil dab around my nose if there is redness. I tap it out with my finger all around my eye area including the lids. It adds such a nice fresh brightness to your face, you instantly stop looking like you just crawled back from the dead. I've been using this thing for years and have raved about it here before, it's my little baby that I'll never let go of.

2.) Next up is some translucent powder for all around my eyes and I like to swipe it over my whole T-zone also. My ride or die powder has been this NYX Set It and Don't Fret It for so long. This is another one I've mentioned on here and in videos a bunch of times. I'm loyal as fuck to my products and to..... NEXT!

3.) I'm so beyond lazy about brows but still completely refuse to leave them untouched. While I love the Brow Wiz and Pomade and every other product like it, I just don't have the time or patience to be that detailed. I used to love the Benefit Gimme Brow but when I started using the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara, I was hooked. It's the perfect color for me, it fills them in pretty nicely and naturally, and locks everything in place. A few swipes and it's done.

4.) And lastly of course is mascara because this is the one product that makes all the difference. You could have a whole face of makeup on and it wouldn't look good until you add mascara. It is the queen! If I'm feeling fancy I'll curl my lashes first but I usually don't bother. My long time fave is the L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black.

Obviously what I do is really so simple, it's just to make me look awake. It's my "wake up makeup". And let's be real, while yes this is my summer situation because I don't want sticky foundation melting off my skin in the 110 degree heat, it will probably just be my go-to forever makeup since I love it so much. Maybe I'm just in a phase, but I'm so over putting 97 products on my face and eyes. I love makeup, I really do but it's exhausting and damaging and ummm expensive. And homegirl is on a major spending freeze. I think I've only worn a full face of makeup three times in the last few months. It's so freeing!

What products do you use to keep a simple fresh faced look?

Fire In The Sky

If you checked social media at all this past weekend, you were made well aware that there was a massive fire burning in Los Angeles. If you follow me on snapcht (mskellylouise) you saw it grow with me. Even though it was destructive and tragic for some, it lit up the sky so beautifully. I'm not positive but I think the smoke and falling ash stretched out to about 30 miles across LA County.

Get To Know Me

Almost two years ago I posted a video with 50 Facts About Me. It was totally random, and not very deep. Today, I saw a video that was posted by someone in a similar situation as me. She had been in relationship for a few years and it suddenly ended. She wanted to kinda show her own self again so she did the 25 Questions tag (even though it wasn't 25?) and I felt it was kind of the perfect time for me to do the same. I'm re-adjusting to a lost audience and a new audience and thought it'd be fitting to do a simple sort of get to know me post.

Keeping it basic, light and again not very deep, here we go!

1.  What is your middle name?

9. What was your favorite/worst subject in high school?
I've always loved Science.
And absolutely hated English. Don't tell me what to read, your options are boring as fuck! And forcing us to read to the whole class, ugh. Everything about english class was miserable and uncomfortable. Except vocab tests, cuz flash cards.  And side note, I've never written an essay. I bullshitted my way into getting a D in English classes just to pass them. borrriiinnngggg

11. What is your favorite animal?

21. How many boyfriends have you had?
like real long term ones? ... three.

22. What is your favorite memory from childhood?
ehhh this is a dark place. but since we're keeping it light... the first thing that comes to mind is all the weekends I would spend at my best friend Casey's house. And we would ride our bikes around the neighborhood and go to the local tiny video store and get candy and rent scary movies. A lot of my best memories were time spent at her house. Actually maybe all my best memories. Her parents treated me like their own child and took me in when my mom had to go away...

I don't really have any new pix so I just went with the most fuckery ones I could find. Of course from Snapchat...

What I Get At Chipotle

I know any of you that enjoy Chipotle have a "go-to" meal there. Everyone gets the same.exact.thing. when they go. Including me, of course. But mine has changed, for a couple of reasons. One being that I'm now going vegan and can't add chicken and two being that they be playing me on the bell peppers. I'll get into that rant in a minute.

Before I get into what my current staple is, let me tell you what my old tradition was. For years and years my solid go to was this: Burrito, Rice (brown or white, whatever I was feeling that day), Fajita Veggies, Chicken and the Mild tomatoes. That's it. Basic as fuck.

Now it's time for the bell pepper rant - for the fajita veggies, I would kindly ask them to only pick the peppers, no onions please. And for years and years it was never a problem. Until my local Chipotle got a new manager. I was rudely told that I can never ask for peppers only ever again because it takes up too much time and is an inconvenience. *my blank stare* HOLD UP.... first of all, let me note something very important. I'm not a douche. I never ever asked them to do that when there was a line behind me. I start my work day very early so my lunch is very early, when I go to Chipotle it's always empty. Any other time that I'd go, if there was a line I would choose getting a bowl instead of a burrito and I would pick out the onions myself. And I said that to lil miss rude employee, and she condescendingly replied basically telling me "too bad so sad fuck off".

Bell pepper rant #2: Dear Chipotle, all bell peppers taste different. You cannot have green peppers for months and years and then BOOM one day switch to red, or yellow. da fuq?! That messes up the entire flavor fusion! It's a total mind fuck. Stop it.

To be honest, I stopped going to Chipotle for a long time because it became more frustrating than enjoyable. I've also made online orders, picked up, got back to my desk, opened my bowl, and saw that I was given the wrong order. TWICE. So yea, great new management *eye roll*.

However, since I'm trying to go vegan I wanted to see if I could switch it up a bit and be happy with it. I'm super picky and I've never liked all that extra shit like sour cream and guacamole, yuck. I had tried the corn once before and didn't like it. But one day I was feeling brave and tried it again, hmm "not so bad". Great, this could work! So I went balls to the wall and created a new tradition and I.Love.It.

So here we go:
White rice (I recently heard brown is pointless)
Mild tomatoes
Corn salsa
SIIIIIIDE of fajita veggies and I stuff the peppers in as make my way down the burrito.  POWER MOVE.

It makes for a very fresh and kinda summery feeling meal. And when I'm feeling a change, I'll do it all in a bowl. Like I did the day I finally caved and downloaded Pokemon GO and there was a mean little fucker right there on my table.

Now I wanna go get me some Chipotle before I drool all over this keyboard just thinking about it. In the words of Shane Dawson, "and no, this is not hashtag spons but I wish it was!"

What do YOU get at Chipotle!?? Let me know what your tradition is.

Home Decor Inspiration

I've been settled into my own place now for about two and a half months now. For the most part, I've already got all the decor I've wanted. But of course, there are those few things just sitting out there on my wish list that I just can't stop thinking about. And they'll probably be sitting out in wish list land for a long time - I'm trying to be on a spending freeze!

In case you're wondering, the running color theme in my studio is white with gold and green accents. With 99% of the green being faux plants.  Here are some things I've had my eyes on for awhile.

White Globe:  I've been searching Etsy for the perfect gold globe, but came across this white one on Amazon and decided that she, she is, the one

Gold Dipped/White Marble Coasters: Oh hi most gorgeous coasters of all time.

Gold Dinosaur Air Plant: By far one of my favorite things on the internet. The only reason I don't have one yet is because I absolutely cannot decide which dino I want. I'm leaning towards Stegosaurus...

Glass & Gold "Booze" Decanter: Ok but really, why am I waiting on this? We all need one.

White Marble Clock: A clock with class? I'll take it!

Pyrite Wine Stopper: Not that there is ever any left over wine, but just in case...

Green Agate Bookends: I actually got these last week!

And that's it... for now :)

Which dinosaur would you pick?
What is your decor theme if you have one?

Secret Life Of... Me?

Oh hey, look, I'm still here! I'm back for week two of committing to my new schedule. As promised, we're gonna keep it simple here for Monday and speak mostly in photos. This time it's gonna be a weekend recap. I'm not gonna discuss much but I happily was able to spend both Saturday and Sunday with an... old friend. Letting go of anger and being at peace with some shit can really do a lot for your inner self. Remember that.

::Friday after work I went to get my roots touched up. Ya girl is old and gray as fuck.

::Saturday I woke up early and killed it at the gym, did boring things like cleaning and laundry. And then headed out to Anaheim, with the old friend to watch some Muay Thai fights. It was a lot of fun! I went to watch a class last week and I think I'm gonna start going.  My body needs it.

::Sunday morning I let the stairmaster kick my ass again (you may have seen on snapchat! @mskellylouise). And later, the Secret Life Of Pets! We'd been excited for this movie for a whole year, being able to see it together was exciting. The movie is hilarious, as expected! We laughed the whole time. A well spent afternoon.

And now I'm closing out the weekend with a night of some Law & Order SVU because duh it's the greatest show ever.

What did you do this weekend?
Have you seen any awesome movies recently?
